The Keith and Judy Swayne Family Foundation has established the guidelines and calendar for 2011 grant applications. Grants this year will be made in two focus areas: Women’s Issues and Social Justice. Funding will be restricted to qualified 501c3 organizations operating in Orange County, California and the State of Hawaii. Background on the foundation’s interests in each of the focus areas can be found here on our website.
Although the foundation continues to generate most applications from those agencies it invites to apply, unsolicited applications will be accepted directly to the foundation following the instructions found on the website. Those agencies who will be invited to submit Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) should receive invitations to do so from the foundation no later than the first week of April. All Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) must be submitted to the foundation no later than May 13. Evaluation of the LOIs by the foundation will be completed in early July and those agencies being asked to submit full grant applications will be notified by mid-July. If an agency is asked to submit a grant application those applications will need to be in the hands of the foundation no later than September 15. Grant applicants will be notified as to whether or not they have been awarded a grant no later than mid-November. Those receiving grants will be funded approximately December 1, 2011. It is the intention of the foundation to limit the number of grant applicants through careful screening of the LOIs. Grant requests up to $20,000 will be considered. Applicants are advised to carefully and concisely state their funding needs in the LOI.
If there are questions regarding the process please contact Lauren Lloyd at email@example.com Lauren will either answer your question or obtain an answer from the board. We look forward to this year’s grant cycle.
