Swayne Family Foundation Announces Grants

The Keith and Judy Swayne Family Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of grant awards which were distributed in early December for use in 2012. This year’s funding was focused on Women’s Issues and Social Justice in Orange County and Hawaii; the two geographic areas where the foundation currently funds. In total the foundation evaluated 55 Letters of Inquiry and extended invitations to 19 organizations to submit complete grant applications. From these 19 applicants 14 organizations were awarded grants. Of these 14 grants five were for Social Justice and nine for Women’s issues. Five grants went to Hawaii based organizations and nine to Orange County organizations. There was one multi-year grant. The five organizations that were not awarded the grants they requested were given $500 each in appreciation of the time and effort that was put into the grant application process.
